Book Recommendations August 2019 (Spoiler free!)

Hello, Dear Reader!

I’ve been a busy bee recently, reading as much as absolutely possible before my fall semester starts for college. While I was embarking on my book journey I realized there were three books I just had to share with you all! I would absolutely love to discuss these books with you all in the comment section so BEWARE! DO NOT EXPECT THE COMMENTS SECTION TO BE SPOILER FREE!

First and foremost, let’s start off with The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. Please don’t scroll past this one, hear me out! Yes, I am aware that the paperback version is 962 pages long- it’s an absolute beast to read. Especially if you’re in a hurry and trying to get it in before the movie comes out on September 13th. Before you write this one off though, get a free sample on iBook or Google and read all of the free sample. The Goldfinch starts off very sad but the story is so engaging. I’m not giving you any spoilers because I absolutely refuse to ruin even one surprise for you all. (here is a link to the book on amazon with the description!) I will however tell you to read the back, and be prepared for some really interesting characters (especially Boris). Genuinely I think this book is going to have you guys hooked. I stayed up until midnight last night to finish it and just - wow. That’s all I’ve got to say right now! (I’ll have a real review of this book coming soon!)

If, like me, you grew up with the Avatar the Last Airbender TV show then you’ve probably heard of this book already. But, if you haven’t The Rise of Kyoshi by F. C. Yee is amazing. It’s like the show never ended! I’ve always loved the mystery surrounding Avatar Kyoshi in the show and have always wanted to know more about her. I got this book basically right after it came out and I am so glad that I did. This book absolutely blew me away. Everything about it is perfect and just made me so happy to read it!

And finally, if you’re into graphic novels/comic books/Webtoons then you’ll absolutely love this one. Taproot by Keezy Young is about a gardener who can see ghosts and something has gone awry with the ghosts he can see! I mean, of course, you can’t have a friendly ghost story without something happening to the friendly ghosts! It’s an extremely cute little story that I finished relatively fast (In like an hour maybe?) but it’s definitely worth the ten or so dollars. The art is beautiful and it was just such a nice, pleasant story with wonderful characters. It really feels like I have a Webtoon comic sitting on my bookshelf.

That’s all for now, but I really hope you guys check out these books they’re so good and I loved them very much. They’re all three definitely getting a special place on my favorites bookshelf!

*Don’t forget to leave a comment down below they make my day!
