Guess Who Is Back!

Guess Who Is Back!

We all know the end result of putting something off is that nothing gets done. Or, if by some miracle it does get done, the quality probably isn’t very good. While those things are bad I’ve discovered something even worse. The longer it takes you to say, post an article on your website, the more wary you are to do so. You miss one week, then suddenly it’s been two or three months and you second guess everything you type. I’ve typed three or four partial articles which are now irrelevant due to timing (and this is no one's fault but my own) since the last time you guys heard from me.

However I am finally being coaxed out of the dark and back into writing with Daytona Speedweeks here. A few days ago was the Busch Clash which, if you need a reminder, is a non-points race to get fans excited for the Daytona500 . This upcoming Sunday is the 500 and by Saturday’s Xfinity race I’ll start the process once again of dedicating what little free time I have to writing NASCAR articles for LOS and RPW. I don’t want to make anymore empty promises about how often I’ll be uploading here, but I can make this promise for sure: I’m doing my best! I really am and I will upload when I can!

This article is serving as my ice breaker back into writing. Once I post this article and prove to myself that I can upload and nothing ‘bad’ is going to happen I’m hoping that will be enough to convince me to start typing again. I’m also hoping by not putting the pressure of upload dates on my shoulders that I will be tempted to upload more often. If you turn something into a chore then you aren’t doing it because it’s fun, you’re only doing it because you feel like you have to. I definitely don’t want to get to that point!

It won’t be as long before you guys hear from me again, I swear.  I’ve got a book recommendation list scheduled to come out on Thursday at noon EST. It will be filled with the books that have stayed with me since I’ve read them. I’ve got quite a list to pick from because I read thirty-four in just 2019! Of course that means this year’s goal is even higher.

Today I’m putting my bookshelves back up because we painted my room yesterday and I need to reorder my books yet again. The thing is, on the shelves, it doesn’t look like I have that many books... but stacked up in the office? That’s another story. Especially since all of them got mixed up in the book moving process. Not that I’m complaining of course! I love books and this bump in the road will not stop me from obtaining more. I also find it sort of therapeutic to organize them. So while it is a commitment to get started, it’s still a nice project to work on.

Anywho, I’m off to get back to work!

See you all in Thursday’s book rec!
